Black Ops 6 players have begun receiving free CoD Points and Battle Pass Tokens when they log in, but no one is entirely sure why they’re being given out.
If you want to buy anything from the in-game store, whether it’s a shiny new weapon Blueprint or the latest crossover skin, you’ll need CoD Points to do it. These can be purchased with real cash, but there are also ways to earn them for free.
Article continues after adThe most common is through the Battle Pass, which provides a few free CoD Points each season, and 1,100 in total if you upgrade to the Premium track. Now, though, players are reporting that they’re randomly being given the currency and BP Tokens when they boot up Black Ops 6.
‘davidpiksi’ posted a screenshot on Reddit showing the message they received, reading: “Your extra Battle Pass entitlements have been converted to 1,100 CoD Points.” These funds were immediately added to their account, as well as 20 Battle Pass Tier Skips.

Randomly got 20 battlepass tier skips and 1100CP. I have no idea what I did. Nobody was on my PC. Is there a reason I got this? Was I hacked? Or did I just miss something?

So far, it seems that only players on PC have received the sudden bonuses, but even then many missed out, adding to the confusion.
“The same thing just happened to me, but I don’t know what’s going on hahaha,” said one reply, while another added: “The same thing just came to me, but I don’t know what it is about it lol.”
Black Ops 6 players criticize eye-watering Season 1 bundle costs
Article continues after adSince this is clearly a refund for some kind of additional purchase, a number of theories have been kicked around. It’s possible that the devs are returning CoD Points to players if they bought the Premium Battle Pass before upgrading to BlackCell, although a number of players claimed this wasn’t the case.
Article continues after adIt was also speculated that it could be tied to Black Ops 6’s launch, when those who preordered the game thought they would get 2,200 CoD Points, only to realize that this included the 1,100 in the Battle Pass.
Article continues after adThis isn’t the first time this has happened, either. Back in Modern Warfare 3, some players were suddenly given Battle Pass Tokens for weekly challenges, with no explanation as to why it was happening or why only certain accounts got them.
It isn’t entirely clear what these free CP and tokens are for, but either way, the players lucky enough to get them will no doubt be pleased with the reward.
