FaZe got off to a great start at DreamHack Open Leipzig by defeating Luminosity 16-9 on de_inferno.
DreamHack Open Leipzig kicked off with a mouth-watering clash between Luminosity and the new FaZe roster. The two teams had faced each other just a week ago, when Håvard "rain" Nygaard's men were still playing for G2, with the Brazilian side picking up a convincing 2-0 win. But this time around things would be much different.
A flying start from FaZe on the Terrorist side saw them take the opening five rounds of the game. A triple kill from Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo then gave Luminosity their first round on the board, but FaZe's fantastic run continued, with the scoreline blooming to an 8-2 advantage before the Brazilians called a timeout.
Maikelele & co win first match under FaZe
The break bore immediate fruits as Luminosity cut the gap to four rounds, but FaZe refused to take their foot off the pedal and closed out the half with an impressive 11-4 lead.
FaZe piled more misery on their opponents by winning the opening three rounds of the second half to bring the score to 14-4. Luminosity still managed to string a few rounds together, but there was nothing they could do to stop FaZe from winning the match.
